December Daily 2015 Album Walk Through
As December approaches at a terrifying pace I find myself both a little overwhelmed with how quickly the holidays are approaching, as well as filled with that inexhaustible Christmas zeal that I think terrifies everyone who knows me. Luckily, this combination was the motivation I needed to get my unfinished December Daily album out from last year and finally put on the finishing touches. I had completed most of it at the beginning of this year, but found myself out of steam around the time that the bigger layouts of the last week of December rolled around. But now, now it is finally finished! (mostly, at least) And I am so proud because this is the very first scrapbook I have actually finished!
For those who don't know, December Daily is an awesome scrapbooking project created by Ali Edwards. She has a lot of great videos and blog posts explaining the project and what it means to her here: http://aliedwards.com/projects/december-daily . December Daily is the perfect opportunity for me to combine my love of beautiful things with the traditions of the holidays. It lets me document all the special memories we spend so much time and effort creating. And most importantly, it forces me to see the people and activities around me with a more intentional and grateful heart. I love this project, I love the holidays, and I love having an excuse to use my creativity in a different way.
I've decided to include both a video walk through, as well as photos for each page of my album. My album is large, large enough that I actually had to split it into two 6x8 albums because I couldn't fit it all in one. Because of that, there are going to be a lot of photos here, so apologies if this gets a little lengthy. I'm not going to list or link all my sources, but I do have a really good memory for superfluous details, so I can probably tell you where anything in the album came from - if you're interested, just ask below in the comments! And finally, as fair warning, I batch edited all these photos to brighten them up a little, so the coloring may be off on some. I hope you enjoy looking through! (Video walk through is at the bottom for those who prefer that)
My cover page is just a simple transparency that I cut down to size. I added the December Daily rubber banner and chipboard numbers from Ali's main kit. The cover page sits over top of my intentions page which is pictured below.
And that's the album! I had so much fun with with project and can't wait to do it again this year. For a more in depth walk through check out the video below, and feel free to leave comments on the blog here with questions or comments about any of the details in the album! I would love to do a few tutorials in the future on some of the elements seen here if there is anything you think would be fun to replicate in your own projects.
